The current view in Russia is that most countries now offer quite competitive prices which can only grow with time. Overseas property sales from Russia, did not fall even during the recent economic conditions as practical thinking Russian buyers took advantage of the special "antirecession" discounted prices on global real estate markets. In many countries it is considered that prices have now reached their lowest levels and are beginning to grow. This has kindled a great interest for Russian buyers and real estate investors for properties on offer especially in Bulgaria, Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Cyprus and other destinations.

Experts observe that luxury properties are becoming ever more popular in view of the reductions in prices. Private villas, luxury homes and exclusive apartments that once cost exorbitant money have now regained their real value. The market is experiencing an increasing number of Russian buyers who can afford property at realistic prices.

Russian people are buying properties guided not solely by investment perspectives. More and more buyers are purchasing properties for their own pleasure with the reasoning: "I have 500,000 euro and I'd like to buy something useful and enjoyable". Not only do they hope to increase their capital investment; they are also looking for a safe investment to conserve their savings.

Extensive development of the sport of golf in recent decades, has created an entire market segment - golf property. Close to most golf courses, resorts, apartment hotels, golf villas, cottages, and condominiums provide the essential infrastructure. The profitability of golf property investments has not only been appreciated by Russian golfers but also by qualified investors and regular buyers. Properties close or on a golf course generally enjoy a superb natural environment, privacy and the social benefits of the golfing community. Initially non-golfing Russian buyers were slow to appreciate the benefits of golf property, but this has changed with many now enjoying the healthy club lifestyle and also starting to play golf.

Whilst many buy property for their own enjoyment and increasing number now recognise the investment potential of their properties and enjoying the revenues of rental returns.
